A blog dedicated to helping the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District pass a sales tax to usher in the future of transportation for Marin and Sonoma counties.
Good (albeit, probably expected what with the near super-majority approval) news from the Marin Independent Journal. They endorse a yes vote on Measure Q!
This site exists for the sole purpose of bringing a smart alternative means of transportation to Marin and Sonoma counties.
I'm referring to the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District's proposed commuter rail line that would run roughly parallel to highway 101. 70 miles, 14 stations. Reduced greenhouse gases and a new viable alternative to the suffocating lack of options provided for North Bay residents.
But this important project needs money. As such a sales tax will need to be voted on, and to pass will require super majority.
This blog exists to try and raise awareness, ready voter turnout, and invigorate political action for what is one of the most important choices facing the North Bay since we turned down BART 40 years ago.
We need to make the SMART choice, and instigate the future of transportation in the North Bay.
